need help from the bottom of the learning curve

Post by cobranut » Mon May 19, 2003 8:08 pm

Ok I bought the tweecer/rt a few months ago and am just now getting around to trying it. and have many questions/problems
I got it to read the eec and figured out how to write that to a file and even think I loaded that into position two on the tweecer.
I did all this with a used A9L I bought on E-Bay,
My problem is the same night I decided to recheck my TPS volatage and find that it is at 4.98 volts all the time. the car has been running crappy ever since I put the A9L in and I think it is probably bad, I dont think I did anything to it by installing the tweecer.
first off has anyone seen this before and is there a way to straighten it out with the tweecer?
2nd if the A9L is toast like I suspect then I will have to put the C3W1 back in that ford sold me when the terminals inside my origianl A9L coroded and broke. Is the C3W1 the same as an A9L like ford told me?
are there bin files for the C3W1 on the web site?
Can I just hook the tweecer up to it and start over? or do I need to clear the tweeecer first? if so how?
also since I have installed the selector switch I can no longer see where the dot is on it so dont know where position 1 or 5 are so if I start over do I turn it clockwise to get to position 5 to read/load the stock bin or counterclockwise?
I did put the C3W1 back in and can get the tps back to .98 again but I am afraid to hook the tweecer to it untill I know I wont screw it up trying to read it's bin.
Ok if your still with me heres what I have
89 302 bored to 306
Trick Flow twisted wedge heads with 6.1 roller rockers
E303 cam
trick flow intake
65mm throttle body
Pro-M 75mm maf
24 lbs/hr injectors
190ltr fuel pump
all this is in a 65 cobra so I have deleated the EGR, air pump, purge canister and all the assoiciated other stuff, useing resisters to replace most of it except the EGR
for starters I am just looking to eliminate the EGR controlls and smooth out my idle troubles, after I get through that I may find a dyno and work on performance.
sorry for the long post and I hope someone reads through it all and can get me pointed in the right direction
thanks for any help you can offer
Greg
