CalCon results are not correct

Post by 90GreenVert » Thu Mar 06, 2003 6:57 am

I've got the tweecer reading and writing in CalEdit (1.20b), however, the results in CalCon are all over the place. Example RPM 64-65 at idle, MPH jumps from 20-120 at idle, battery volts 4.5, it shows TPS jumping all the way up to 5.0 when it's not WOT. I have got a dbf datalog if you need to see it. What I'm I doing wrong?

Thanks for your help.

Jeff

Jeff,

I test each of these and it has an A9L binary loaded with a payload I built and if you dont build your own payload you will get gibberish. Please read the below linked post regarding building payloads.

I have the RT on a fairly heavily modified 92GT with an A9L and using the dump from my Kenne Bell chip. I messed around a little last year with the data logging and all seemed fine. I just borrowed a lap top again a few weeks ago (I still need to buy one  ) and now even though the data logging works it seems really wacked out. It shows me around 3200 rpm at idle when my factory tach shows around 1000 rpm, the coolant and air charge both show excatly the same temp (they go up as everything warms up but they always read the same as each other) the TPS bounces all around from 0v to somewhere around 5v, sometimes the mass air shows it is pegged at idle and won't change, and there are a few other wierd things...

I got rid of the old installation and installed the latest software, removed the A9L and cleaned the connector really good put it all back together and have the exact same thing as before... Anyone have any ideas? Oh yeah, don't know if it is related or not but now when I get on it in 4th around 4000 rpm it feels like I hit the rev limmiter, then it pulls again then hits a wall again... Funny thing is the differance between the Calcon rpm and the factory tach means that at around 4000 rpm on my tach, Calcon would see around 6250, which is where my rev limmiter is still set at...

I hope it is something simple but any and all ideas/suggestions would be appreciated. 8)

have you downloaded and tried the latest A9L.dat file from the yahoo group?

http://f2.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/MCbUPvWzqE ... es/A9L.DAT

How's that for a hyperlink?

I could be mistaken here but if I understand things correctly, I can't just download a new dat file and make it work... I have an 80mm mass air from Kenne Bell (actually from Ford) that is not calibrated as it relies on the computer to take care of it. I bought the mass air and a chip combo from KB and they setup the chip for my 36# injectors. I have no idea what all they changed with the chip besides that.
To give me a starting point I had Mike read the chip for me and I stuck that into the TwEECer to get me up and running, I have barely started playing with it but discoverd the above issue and am trying to figure what could be casuing it so I can take care of it and start tuning from there. I had a borrowed laptop and had to give it back the other day so I need to find one ASAP, but in the mean time any ideas on what could be causing these wierd issues?

Sounds like you need to build the payload as discussed in my reply to the original post in this thread. Your 1.19 payload is NOT the same as what we have in 1.20, which requires that you build a payload and write it to your tweecer again. This should clear your 4k cut out too....in fact you might want to start with the original kb dump we did and build the payload.

 DOH!!! That makes perfect sense Mike, thanks for pointing out what should have been obvious to me in the first place... Never occured to me to re-write to the TwEECer... Will give that a shot! 8) Thanks again!!!
