Newbie needs some help guys

Post by MilenniumGT » Fri Jun 06, 2003 6:54 pm

Ok, I just finnished putting my motor back in the car and tried to install the tweecer on my laptop. The only problem is that It keeps saying Dirver not found during the install. Can anyone help me out here? I've downloaded all the software from the site ( I think ) Also my fan stays on constantly and I'm not hearing my fuel pump prime. My car is a 2000 Model GT with a GTG3 processor. Can someone please help me.

I assume you have the newer USB version. If so when you first hook up Tweecer and apply power it should search for the USB driver. On my install it is located in C:\program files\STKR\driver. Once you get it communicating then do a read EEC and write Tweecer for each switch position except 5. Also you only have to load BDEInst.exe and RT120B3.exe, the file CESetup.exe is only for the older LPT version. Also don't load BDEInst.exe if it has already been installed, some folks have problems with this. Some of the newer OSs give error messages that can be ignored, see FAQs and search for these issues.

Until you get to this point you can just use position #5 and the car should run and work normally because position #5 bypasses Tweecer.

OK, I've got it on position 5 and it's still doing the same thing. Now I've noticed that the theft light keeps flashing on my dash and the odometer is just displaying dashes instead of the mileage. Any ideas at all?

Ok, the only other thing to try is to clean the edge board connector that the Tweecer plugs into with alcohol and maybe lightly with a non-abrasive pencil eraser (only hard enough to clean the oxide off the fingers). Also try mating and demating the connector 5 times, most connectors clean slightly when they are mated and demated, this is called wipe. Also try disconnecting your negative battery terminal for 10 min. to reset the PCM long term memory if you haven't done this yet.

Other than this you"ll have to ask Mike for help.

Ok, I got it to load and work so far, thank you very much. Now my next question is, My processor is labeled as a GTG3, but that's not an option on the EEC types. What do I need to do about this ?

Well, that's good news. Now for the bad news, it looks like your GTG3 isn't supported yet see http://www.tweecer.com/products.htm, but Mike will have to answer this for sure. I would read out the binary with read EEC then write the file to disk and send it to Mike, it may help him to help you. You could also post it on the Yahoo forum as a new virgin binary. Also ask for help on the Yahoo forum, I searched here and there for GTG3 and no hits.

Ok, this is really starting to suck. Now everytime I plug the tweecer up it does the same thing it was doing before. It started out fine, I turned it to position 5 and the car acted normal. But when I went to start it it wouldn't fire up and now even in postion 5 the odometer isn't displaying anytning, the theft light keeps flashing, and the fan constanly runs, not to mention the car won't start.

Could you please tell me how to get my stock binary onto a disk so I can send it to mike. Everytime I click on read EEC it says reading complete but all the scalar values are at 0. I've got to figure something out, my ECU doesn't know what to do with the new motor. I thought that since it said that 99-00 Mustang were supported that it would work.

Well I don't know. If you look at that table it says 99-00 Mustangs are supported for Basic TwEECer, just not the R/T model (no datalogging).

Hopefully Mike will chime in and give you a answer. Sorry I couldn't be of any help.

Thanks guys,

Got everything lined out thanks to some help from mike. I've only played with it a little bit last night. I adjusted the idle and the fuel injector slopes, but I'm still running way to rich. But I'm working on that part. I appreciate all of you guys helping me out.

Kerry

Mike,

Here's the info on my setup.
My combo is set up as follows:
Stock Displacement, stock crank, Diamond Racing Forged 10.1:1 pistons, Comp XE270AH cams ( 270 Degrees advertised Duration, @ .050 IN: 234 EX: 238 Lift W/ 1.28 R.R. : .550 Lobe separation : 113 degrees ) Ported and Polished heads, Mod Max oversized valves, Hooker Long tubes w/ matching X-pipe, flowmaster 3 chamber mufflers, DenseCharger inlet tube, K&N Filter, Lightning 80MM MAF, Bosch 42lb injectors ( I know they're way too big, I was hoping to correct this with the tweecer ). UPR Intake spacer, Ford MotorSport Under drive pulleys. 03 Cobra Fuel Pump, ported upper intake plenum. Thats pretty much it except the clutch and gears, any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
