I need desparate help! Someone please help me?

Post by lamrith » Thu Jul 17, 2003 12:16 am

New twEECer RT owner. Running into widespread issues.

'97 Cobra ECU CCA1.

downloaded the bin file from site.

1st try installed the 1.19 softeware and drivers that came with it. Everything seemed fine her ein house. loaded driver, fine, seemed to read to/from the EEC even on the floor.

Went outside. Powered on key, everything went to hell, flacky readings trying to read/write. Crashing with VXD errors. I uninstalled all, loaded 1.20b3, same issues.

The manual mentions after a successful read of EEC that hex values apear to the right?? the place to the right is a notes field in my software??? I don;t ever remember seeing any data there on floor or in car..

Can someone please help me?? There are TOO many random threads aout issue for me to make head or tails and I need the car at least to run late tomorrow.. I need to kill PATS 1st thing I think.. I need to at least get to see what the EEC has in it for anything as I don;t think I am seeing real info.. The J3 port had silicon all over it, think it is all off, and the software is not giving no read errors..

You've probably already figured this out, I'm just searching for help for my problems and found a question I can actually answer! ;)

I can't really help much other than to say that the Manual is old and hasn't been updated to reflect the current versions of CalEdit and CalCon. There are a variety of changes in appearance and features that aren't shown in the Manual.

I called Mike, he was able to figure out it was reading properly..

I had the car running, but the 4.6 vs 5.0 was too big a difference to get running properly..
