FJO Wideband Install Help

Post by desmo996 » Mon Aug 18, 2003 8:11 pm

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or even better pictures of their WB install. I have LT headers and the WB o2 bung was welded into the matching x-pipe as close to the collector as reasonably possible. The problem is now I don't have enough length in the harness to get to a secure (preferably watertight) location. I would prefer to install the box inside the car.

Anyhow, can anyone tell me or show me how they installed their WB controller?

Hi Desmo,

I currently have mine installed on the firewall in my 91lx, but in the '03 Mach 1 I installed it under the passengers side seat. I had to take the electrical connector off of the wiring & install a grommet through the transmission tunnel , a lot of work but it is inside the car, routed the display wiring under the carpet to get to the dash so I could mount the display. Do not have any pictures as of yet, but when I have some time off from work I was going to send some stuff to John to put in the FAQ section. Still working 70-80 hour weeks so not much time for tuning stuff lately, still need to test the "DAT" file Mike sent to me, just not enough time.

Hope this helps,

Mine is mounted up front where the air box used to be. After seeing their video of them thawing it out of a block of ice in boiling water I'm not at all worried about it in the elements.

Thanks Dale, I believe that is how I am planning on routing mine also.

Klondike, How in the world did you get it all the way up to the airbox? My harness can't be 2' in length.

Mounted the FJO controller on the frame rail next to the radiator and the cable that attaches to sensor was more than long enough to get there. With it mounted there I could also get to go over to the drivers side if needed, just seemed like the right place to put it.
