GSALI to CBAZA change out
Since the GSALI and the CBAZA pinouts are almost identical can I simply swap this out? II like the parameters of the CBAZA much better. The only differences in the pinout are pin 32 is for High Fan control and pin 34 for secondary air injection diverter. Since I am going to be running an electric fan where as the GSALI car had a mechanical fan, until I can get the needed hardware I will run a separate temp control for the fan.
The reason is the GSALI DEF has no EGR defeat. Plus lets face it.......CBAZA has way more tuning than does GSALI.
One more question, the computer I am looking at is from a 94 GT with a 5 spd. What are the chances this will be a T4M0?
I really want to wind up with a WBO2 wired into EGR and I don't think that I can really accomplish this with GSALI S3S.
What do you guys think?

Re: GSALI to CBAZA change out
gsali is actually well broken out frit's been doing all the work on the 4 supercoupe defs
i also considered swapping my ecu to the t4m0 ecu just because it has much more control but it really pointless, with all the support for the supercoupe ecu's thanks to frit it can pretty much do anything and everything you need it to
but yes it can be done, matter of fact the t4m0 is a direct replacement for the 91-93 5.0 thunderbirds, simply unplug the old ecu cut the neutral position switch wire and plug the new ecu in.

Re: GSALI to CBAZA change out
I have GSALI from sctuning. Mine has very little. I bought this definition and it is missing scalars and what not. I bought the T4M0 computer yesterday so I am going to go that route. I see you do alot of work with T4M0 and i like the support.
I have to turn off EGR and Thermactor. Here is something I am somewhat concerned about is that I only got the harness from the ECU to the Power dist block. It didn't dawn on me that I may need the harness from the ECU to the inside of the car. I think that I may have issues with Pins 3 and 6 for VSS and pin 8 for the Fuel Pump Monitor, pin 22 for Fuel Pump Relay I suppose I can hard wire this crap in if I have to but I can imagine that the main harness in MN-12 had a secondary harness going into the vehicle for these things. I suppose I can disable the fuel pump moitor and har wire VSS as well as the fuel pump relay.
How integrated is fuel pump monitor?

Re: GSALI to CBAZA change out
There's a fuel pump control line and a monitor line. The only thing the monitor line does is throw a code if the EEC ever see's no voltage when it knows the fuel pump should be ON. I miswired the feedback line back when I did my original Ranger V8 installation and the EEC has always thrown "bad fuel pump" codes, but they never turn on the CEL and the error doesn't prevent the engine from actually starting. It's a monitor only from what I can tell. At some point, I'd like to revisit it and get it fixed, but it's just not a priority, not even a small one.

Re: GSALI to CBAZA change out
No......The scalars aren't available. They are grayed out. I have all of them checked. Even the 1 on page 2. Fraser says there is a bug with the Strategy. Great. I paid $35 for a strat with a bug. That's my luck. He seemd to get slightly cheeky when this upset me. I didn't want to pay $35 to be a BETA tester. I still have the ECU but I bought a T4M0 for $40 here on craigslist. I can swap the QH if I need to in order to test something. There are way too many things missing from GSALI that I want and or need in order to be effective enough.
The EGR disable will not accept changes. (FRASER Said he is working on that)
There is no thermactor disable.
Can't disable fuel pump monitor
There seems to be no way to manipulate the EGR input to accept WBO2
These are all the things that II sought out when buying this system. I was assured they would be possible with GSALI and they are not. I don't have the Tedious amount of hours to decypher data locations. I barely have enough to get this car built. I don't even have the Motor completed yet. I have the stuff and the tools yet not the time. I have all tools and parts ECU's and WBO2 EVERYthing but time. This is why I just need something that works.

so it sounds like you are not happy with your def file but you are not working with fraser to solve the issue. Is this correct?

Actually, I sent him a few e-mails.....Below is the E-Mail. I knew that I could disable the self check by turning off the hardware, however the value would and still will not be saved as any value but 0.
-------------------------E-Mail Below---------------------------------------------------------------
I am working with Clint with a problem that will fix writing to that value, but it is obvious you have already given up on it. I’ll find someone else to test it.
Good luck with your conversion.

It will not save the changes…… I have tried many times. I have the license for BE and it is properly registered. Plus nothing is there is nothing there for the thermactor.
I think I am going to the CBAZA T4M0. I bought the computer already. I guess I chalk my $35 for GSALI up to experience. Thank you anyway.

Go under Air-EGR scalars and look up PID V_DELPFE_HP and check that its set to 0. The description says 2 so if the zero doesn’t work, try 2.

Re: GSALI to CBAZA change out
1) Yes I am terribly unhappy with the DEF. Also the communication after the sale sux. There is nothing to work with. There has been no communication since. He hasn't offered a fix, or any asked for any logs nothing. The DEF still doesn't work. I wasn't going to be a jerk, I never said anything about Fraser. The DEF Doesn't work and why should I pay to beta test? I promise that when I have something to contribute I will be glad to. Since I can't turn off EGR and it is going to throw a CEL how can I get the car into open loop? How much tuning can you really do if you can't get the thing to operate right. Seriously, when is the last time you threw $35.00 down the toilet and were happy doing it.cougarnut281 wrote:so it sounds like you are not happy with your def file but you are not working with fraser to solve the issue. 2) Be glad to work with fraser to fix the GSALI issue(Especially since I purchased it)....No problem Hakuna Matada. That GSALI S3S will not be running my car though. The reason is......after seeing the difference in GSALI and CBAZA you would have to be nuts to stay with GSALI. Frasers DEF is light years behind CBAZA. There are tons of things that are just flat ass missing. It isn't personal. I will help out with what ever kind of help I can. That goes for anybodys DEF or their tune. I am just getting started in this realm.
I will be glad to do whatever. Having said that I don't appreciate the Cheeky response. When I have customer service issues, I don't tell the customer thanks for your money now lets go BETA testing. I keep tuning until I get it right. I have thrown dozens of hours down the toilet on designs that were flawed. GSALI is Flawed but what isn't. Offer to fix it not act like a 2 year old when someone has a complaint.
Just my .02. Maybe I am off base. You tell me.

Re: GSALI to CBAZA change out
Kory, part of the problem is that Fraser is decrypting those defs more so for the supercoupe crowd, the supercoupes never came with a thermactor so i would assume that may make things a little different, although the def is the same for the v8s i don't see the thermactor being a priority when there's still much work left to do
I'm sure if you asked frit for a refund he would work something out with you.
I'll try to help you with the t4m0 swap best I could, i removed the full ecu harness for my 408 so i can remote mount it under the hood and also swap it in the new supercoupe body i just bought, also if i decide to throw her on an engine dyno i have my ecu there as well.

Frasers Response!
I asked for a refund......... His response was:
"The policy for digital media is no refunds which I’m sure you can understand why."
I even tried to sell him the computer. $35 for the definition and $40 for the ECU. No deal.
I had to file a claim with paypal.
Without the thermactor and EGR controls, GSALI is useless to me. I even asked this stuff before I bought it.

Re: GSALI to CBAZA change out
For you information, I did manage to find the thermactor switch this morning in the code. I also fixed the issue with the EGR testing setting so it can be set. You had made it very clear you had given up on GSALI and was going with the newer EEC so I did not inform you of the changes.
The reason I do not give refunds is the fact that you could easily just keep on using GSALI since you have the unlock key now. Now, I will be having everyone coming after me to get refunds but continue to use the strategy files.
Since your claim with paypal went through, not only is my paypal account locked out, they have also locked out my bank account which means my mortgage payment does not go through tomorrow, and for the next 120 days.
When any issues with the definitions have come up, I have done everything I can to help to resolve the issue, including spending hours on the phone to help get a base tune up. You where the one that shortly stating the issues announced you where dropping the EEC you have for a newer one.
You mentioned about buggy etc and not being a beta tester. You name one definition file out there that is 100% perfect.
As of now, I will no longer be selling any of my definition files to anyone, as my family comes first, and putting them at risk over something for $35 is not worth it.
I will not be saying any more on this issue here since this is not the place for this.

Re: GSALI to CBAZA change out
So when I sent you an E-mail this afternoon regarding the matter you what forgot to mention this?
Several times I explained that with EGR and Thermactor controls I can ACTUALLY USE GSALI.
Had you mentioned this there would have been no problems. I would have likely kept CBAZA as a back up.
IT has been a week since I brought this to you attention and you have do jack about it. No communication, No " Hey let me see if I can find that " No " I am sorry this doesn't work for you" Nothing. You get all bent out of shape when I make mention of something not working. I asked before I bought GSALI if it had these controls. Otherwise I would have saved the $35 and went with T4M0.
I have no issue with paying for GOOD Software. I spent $80 on BE and am going to get EA as soon as I get the car finished.
As far as me continuing to use GSALI........WHY.....IT DOESN"T FREAKIN WORK FOR ME. I have already installed the QH into T4M0(Which BTW was a breeze....I think one could do it without ever opening the case...Nothing to bend....Just slides right in)
Anyway....We'll let PayPal and Visa worry about it.

Yep, grats on being a jerk. How do you go from your post on March 24th, to Fraser is horrible to work with? Oh, I know, you got bent out of shape right away because it wasn't working perfectly.
On March 26th (only a few days after your purchase) you posted that you were no longer going to use GSLAI and you even tell Fraser that on March 27th in an email. From the limited emails, it looks like Fraser got back to you fairly quickly, but he just didn't have an answer you liked. He said he would work with someone else on fixing the GSLAI issues since you were giving up on it. Obviously he did work on it and get it fixed.
Then to be even more of a jerk, you file a PayPal claim against him because he wouldn't give you a refund. You know exactly why he would not give you a refund. Why don't you try and get a refund for BE? Oh, wait, you cannot.
Also, you add a line to your sig to bash Fraser more. You are a complete ass.

Re: GSALI to CBAZA change out
BE actually works. I am and will use BE. I was more than happy to pay for BE. I was more than happy to shell out $80 for something that is well written, jam packed full of useful functions and thuis far seems to work flawlessly.
And As I said before, he had decent response time....WHEN HE WAS SELLING SOMETHING. As soon as there was an issue he sent me the snarky e-mail. I never said he is horrible. Not once have I insulted him or even remotely stated that he was a bad guy.....NOT ONCE.
As far as him finding a solution to the scalars in GSALI.....I have yet to see jack. He never once mentioned in his E-mail about finding anything for thermactor until I filed a claim. Furthermore up until that point I HAD NOTHING FROM HIM. I specifically asked about the EGR and Thermactor functions in GSALI.....VERY SPECIFICALLY (IF you would like to see the E-Mail). He pointed me to SCTuning to buy the def. Almost no time went by and i figured out that it had neither function that worked.
As far as my sig goes......How is it bashing anyone when it is the TRUTH. It don't freakin work for my or really any EGR/Airpump deleted vehicle.
Attack me, that is fine.....You are the first (BTW) to start name calling. I may be an ass....that may be true.....but when I am told something of this nature works and lo and behold it doesn't...... I do have a tendancy to get pissed off.
BTW.... Just so you know....Had he in the least little bit had anything to say but snarky banter I would have dropped it.....I had already let the $35 go. His responses pissed me off and thus I initiated the chargeback. Just to prove a point.....as GOD as my witness....whatever funds I get back from FRASER will go straight to this sites owner / Admins....Whoever..... To help pay for the hosting. Guaranteed.
**EDITED** Better Yet.......If Fraser will PayPal Jon the $35.00 I will drop it all together and you will never hear another word form me about the subject. This way we all win. The site gets some help......Fraser doesn't have to admit any fault.....and well even though I am out the $$$ it at least went to a good cause. And Furthermore....if it would make FRASER feel better i will Completely uninstall BE....Transferring the license that I bought for BE to a new installation without GSALI registered and reregister BE that way. If you want screenshots I can host them on my webserver for the whole world to see.
P.S. Anyone want to buy an S3S ECU? Lol

Lol

Re: GSALI to CBAZA change out
I see there has been no response! I believe that is rather telling of the situation.

Re: GSALI to CBAZA change out
I don't think the two of you are going to come to any kind of reconciliation or positive conclusion. It's unfortunate you had a bad experience, but I'm afraid at this point, to say any more is just beating a dead horse.

Re: GSALI to CBAZA change out
well i'll do my part

ford fuel injection lists the DL's as being swapped but they also failed to mention a few of the tbird pin outs so I think this one is more accurate
as you can see its simply plug and play just don't forget to cut the wire to pin 30 the neutral switch

Re: GSALI to CBAZA change out
If you need a couple address pm the specific scalars your having issue with, perhaps I need to work on TBIRD strategies when I complete the 8x-04 mustang ones.

Re: GSALI to CBAZA change out
no need adam, fraser is on the scene, he's got them pretty well broken out
the problem is that this strategy is for both v6 and v8 tbirds, frit is more so doing these strategies for the v6 supercoupe crowd thus some of the v8 only scalars awhich don't apply to the v6 and what not aren't of high priority for him I'm thinking
since this post he has updated the strategy with the thermactor switch

Re: GSALI to CBAZA change out
Derek also has GURE, GSALI/GSALC defs that I believe always have had the V8 stuff. There's constant debate from Fraser that his defs are better, but I'm yet to hear anybody complain when they purchase one of Derek's. Since I don't use either, I can't say which is best with any certainty. But I did want to mention that Derek does also have those covered if you know to ask for them...
