Would like to thank Adam for helping tune a car for good friend of mine (Edgar).

Thanks guys...I was disapointed to see the prior tune by an unnamed shop. Next we need to turn down the boost before the block splits. You should have seen the atrocious MAF curve. The engine makes insane power on such a simplistic combo.

Edgar had mentioned on a local board about poorly it was running after the "tune", I was of no help because I had messed with a supercharged application, and didn't want to learn on someone else's car. I spoke to him a couple weeks ago and he said he'd gotten help with it and it was running much, much better, at the time I didn't know who it was, but glad to hear it was someone from this board.

Lowered the boost a bit but the new converter doesn't stall till 5100 RPM, Edger is working on getting that resolved. Wish that engine had a dart block as we could keep the power in it.

Thank you Adam and Matt for all the help. The car runs like a dream and it has insane power with 7lbs of boost. Throtlle response is amassing. Cruises at 13.9 14.0 no jerking back and forth etc... I'll be dropping the tranny and get the converter tighten up. Lets put it this way, we touched it not even 1/4 of the throttle in first gear and took those 275 40 18's and roast them. We were going down the highway around 55mph in 3rd gear and told my Son to hit it, converter flash to 5000rpm and this thing was just smoking the tires like it was in 1st gear. Talking about heart beat raising real fast, wooohooo that was a rush!!! Once the converter is back we will be taking the car to the track and see what she can do in the 1/4 mile. Thanks:

Edgar

~14 at cruise is a tad rich, I like to see ~15

roasting the tires means you have too much timing, no point in dropping in the torque if it just annihilates the tires thats just slowing you down

sounds like you got issues, it's probably the tune

 just giving adam a hard time

but seriously, be safe, its not fun when she gets sideways on you when your not expecting her too, treat your car like a woman, don't hesitate to pull out despite how much you want to stay in it, when an accident happens it'll cost ya, maybe not 18yrs worth but enough to put a strain on finances, just be safe

Stoic is 14.15 with ethanol in the fuel and left it slightly safe.

Well after going to the track about 3 times, this time we got what we wanted and there is more. Just getting it ready for True street at Atlanta. Here are some videos.

Here are the videos from last night at MMP first one 11.05 mph is wrong.

10.99 pass

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4qocQRSMYY

and this one you will not see the times due to the other car had no times on it. Cheo was not late I told him to stay a bit more on the brakes to get more boost at the launch. Watch the car ahead of him, he caught him then passes him big time watch the clocks when they lit up, other car still at full throttle. This is the 10.84 pass.

Do you think your son will budget for a 4 bolt aftermarket block so we can crank it up some more? Did you get that torque converter issue straightened out? Nice to see the car running...what's sad is we know there's more there but those dog gone factory blocks like to split if were not careful.

A little of this :gears:
A little of that :bananadance:
But cars of any type will eventually give you :dunno: :headbang: :duh: (usually in this order).

Nope, right now he is unemployed. He will join the military in July 17. So car will be at my house and I'll be doing some stuff to it while he is gone.. You know, once a four main block comes, along comes the entire fuel system, bigger injectors a better mass air etc... $$$$ money I don't have plus I have not run my car now since November and need a new set of Q/T Pros for the true street.
Yea I got the converter issues fix.
