Anything about Ford EEC tuning. TwEECer and Moates questions dominate, but there's some SCT and OBD-II knowledge too.

Why do you think even the base vortech kits come with a trex external pump?

I've put down 580hp with a single 255 pump.... That was with MSD 50# injectors too.

If any doubts, get the new Aeromotive 340 pump. http://www.jegs.com/p/Aeromotive/Aeromo ... 6/10002/-1
So whats your point? I bet you had bigger fuel lines and rails also. I went 9.60's with 50# msd injectors and made 200 more rwhp than you through an automatic which required an weldon 2015 external pump. A 255lph pump is not going to support forced induction 580 rwhp with stock lines and rails. It would barely support 600 flywheel hp n/a.

I think we're getting a bit off topic, I do appreciate your guys experiences. My reason for switching to the Deka 60's is they're widely used and know to work good on our cars. My current 2003 Cobra 39's have been know to have an incorrect spray pattern that could or is causingme some tuning issues. I'm not looking to make anywhere near the HP levels you guys have, I'd be happy with 450ish. So I'm sure my 255lph pump, stock fuel lines/rails, and new 60's will support this. I've run this combo in a few calculators and they all check out. If I ever get a new block and upgrade, the fuel system will have to go with it. Thanks again guys for the help.

We just dont want you to blow your stuff up. We are bickering because we care so take it for what its worth. We all have our experiences but I would never EVER let a customers car go out the door with just a 255 in tank pump on a power adder application. It is also my oppinion not to use oversized injectors on applications not requiring them. Thats just plain silly to me, but again thats just my:

:sorry:

We bicker because we care dammit!!! :soapbox:

I'm mearly stating my experiences. I run a 255 high pressure intank pump. I've put them in many other cars with no problems as well. If the combo would need more pump, I have no problem putting one in it, but just like some people wouldn't run more injectors than needed, I generally choose not to use a lot more pump than is needed. I'm going to put a big Weldon on my little 600hp motor so I wouldn't tell anyopne else to either.

But with that said... Let's get back to helping the OP fix his hoopty! :D

My 60# injectors should be here and installed by next week; in the meantime I've gone back and forth a few times with my current setup. It seems like I can leave the factory curve alone and mess with the slopes to get close. I've got a decent datalog put into EA and a new curve to try tonight; we'll see. I'm a bit optimistic that these new injectors will make tuning a bit easier.

Anyone have the factory settings for Siemens Deka 60# injectors?

I agree and for the record I agree with your experience with the hp255. I was referring to the standard 255. Maybe thats where we got our line crossed. If so, please accept my appologies.

Ya know... I suspected that was the case and was why I mentioned it in my last post.

Yes, I only use the HP 255lph pump in any boosted application.

Glad we're all on the same page.

I'm pumping out some serious supercharged power with a 255 in-tank... stock lines and rails, it's FINE. AFRs and everything looks good.

In any case, when I converted my 4x4 to EFI I didn't initially have an O2 bung welded in the Y-pipe. I got it running in OL and after I finally welded the bung in and installed the O2, I switched to CL operation. If I were doing the same thing on a turbo car, I'd probably setup the OL by itself again too... get the OL operation dialed and then flip on the CL and deal with that. It made tuning a bit simpler.

I just ran a few datalog sessions with the Siemens Deka 60's and things are looking much better. I was able to run the factory tested MAf curve and factory injector settings with great success. The lambses and AFR are matching much better and the power up top is much more smooth. I'm thinking if not all and large part of my "turbo frustration" has been from the 203 Cobra 39lb injectors.

I do have another question; what would cause me to clip out the AFR gauge at 21.5 on deceleration when DFSO is not enabled?
